Kimura Bonsai and Landscape Nursery has been serving the Southern California bonsai community since 1975.
In 1996, Robert Pressler took over as the new owner. Since then, Kimura Bonsai and Landscape Nursery has taken its place as one of the finest bonsai nurseries in California.
We are the go-to source in the Los Angeles area for bonsai and Japanese style gardens. Whether it be our one of a kind specimen bonsai, our renowned pre bonsai material , or private collection care you'll find it here.
Over the years we've had many classes and workshops conducted by some of bonsai's finest - Kenji Miyata, Jim Barrett, Ted Matson, Robert Pressler and others that have enabled students to grow in their art. Upcoming classes and workshops will be posted, so check back often.
The image on the Home Page is of a 110-tree forest planting of Foemina Junipers planted in late September of 2001 as a memorial to those who lost their lives on 9-11. The slab is made from fiberglass and rebar and is shaped much like the lower part of the island of Manhattan. The number one tree stands roughly where the Empire State Building would be, the 110 trees stand for the 110 stories of the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center, and there are two burned, hollowed out trunks where the towers would be. This planting will be on display at Kimura Bonsai Nursery until we find permanent display place preferably in NYC .
